Kanpai is a contemporary izakaya — traditional Japanese dining with a modern edge — and the site had to carry that exact fusion online. The task was a digital space that captures the room's vibrant atmosphere and shows off an inventive menu, while still reading like an authentic izakaya rather than a generic restaurant template.
We built a modern, responsive site on React and Next.js, and used elegant animations and considered interactions to bring Kanpai's dining experience to life — an immersive journey that walks a visitor through the food rather than just listing it. Sophisticated and inviting, the way the restaurant is.
We built an intuitive digital menu that showcases Kanpai's range and makes it easy for guests to browse their options — the extensive menu, organised so it's a pleasure to read on a phone at the table.
Kanpai came away with a site as considered as the restaurant: a modern, animated experience that still reads as a traditional izakaya, with a digital menu guests can explore easily. Visual appeal and real function in one.
